Cancellation Policy. In the event of cancellation:
– If you cancel your $500 deposit is non-refundable
– If you cancel within 40 days of the beginning of the trip, 75% of tour price is due.
Upon your arrival at Casablanca Mohamad V International airport, a team member will greet you and escort you to our hotel. This day is planned as a day to relax and get ready for our active tour.

We will have an early flight out of Casablanca airport south over the High Atlas Mountains to Zagora. Here we will be met by our Moroccan host to begin our journey.  We will have lunch in Zagora and visit an artisan cooperative to learn about the ancient method of resorting restoring doors and casting silver. Then we will continue south and stop in the town of  Tamgroute, home to a pottery cooperative run by seven families. Here, we’ll learn about their unique methods and materials.

Overnight: Tagounite

Over the next couple of days we’ll immerse ourselves in the local culture of southern Morocco. You can join a cooking class, learn how to make Moroccan tea, get henna done, enjoy traditional music, or take a walk to explore nearby river and small dunes.

Today we will embark on an unforgettable overnight adventure in the Sahara Desert. Our journey begins with a thrilling 4×4 desert safari, where we’ll stop to enjoy tea or lunch with a nomadic family. We’ll visit a historic site where Moroccan traders once gathered before embarking on the perilous journey to Timbuktu, an ancient hub for gold and salt trade. Lunch will be provided along the way.
 

Upon reaching our desert camp at Erg Chigaga, the largest dunes in Morocco, we’ll be greeted with traditional Moroccan tea and treats. As the sun begins to set, we’ll take a camel caravan into the dunes for a memorable ride and photo opportunities.

In the evening, we’ll savor a delicious dinner. Afterward, we’ll gather under the starry sky to enjoy a campfire accompanied by traditional music. The camp offers well-equipped tents or earthen rooms with comfortable beds, hot showers, and western toilets. You also have the option to sleep under the stars.

Overnight: Sahara Desert Camp

We’ll begin our journey this day across a different part of the Sahara, passing through Lake Iriki National Park. Although the lake is mostly dry today, it was once a favorite spot for southern gazelles. The park spans 123,000 hectares and was established to protect the region’s biodiversity, flora, and fauna.

Along the way, we’ll stop at “Fossil Mountain,” where we’ll discover fossils of sea creatures from when this area was a sea millions of years ago. We’ll also visit a Berber Women’s Carpet Cooperative to learn how local carpets are made. If time allows, we’ll visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its traditional adobe architecture. This iconic location has been featured in films such as Lawrence of ArabiaThe MummyGladiator, and Game of Thrones

Overnight: High Atlas Mountains

After breakfast, we’ll set off for the charming port town of Essaouira. This town boasts a fortified old medina, protected by the 18th-century seafront ramparts known as the Skala de la Kasbah. The walls, lined with old brass cannons, offer stunning views of the ocean. The drive will take approximately 5 hours.

Enjoy a leisurely day exploring the quaint port town of Essaouira at your own pace. Optional activities include quad biking, camel or horse riding on the beach, surfing lessons, yoga, or a hammam (Moroccan spa treatment).

Today we will drive approximately 3 hours to Marrakech. We will do a walking tour of Marrakech after lunch to explore the medina and visit some of the historical landmarks of this beautiful city.

Today is the departure day for those who signed up for the 10 day itinerary. Transportation will be provided to the airport on this day, or you can extend your stay in Marrakech on your own. 
 
If you chose the 14 day itinerary, on this day we will continue north to Fes. After about a 5 hour, our personal guide will take us to visit some of the most interesting historical sights of the city as well as explore the Chouara Tannery, the largest and oldest of its kind.

Overnight: Fes
Following breakfast at the riad, we drive to Volubilis (1.5 hrs), a partly excavated Berber-Roman city dating back to the 3rd century BC. Post-visit, we proceed to Chefchaouen, the ‘blue city’ nestled in the Rif Mountains (3 hrs). Known for its blue-washed buildings in the old town, you’ll have ample free time to unwind and explore independently or choose from optional activities like a photo tour with a local history guide, a night tour, a cooking class, or a hike to the waterfalls.

Overnight: Two-night stay in Chefchaouen.
We will return to Casablanca for departure the next day. We will have a chance to see the Hassan II Mosque, the largest functioning mosque in Africa. Includes breakfast. Optional dinner at Rick’s Cafe, modeled after the movie “Casablanca”.
 
Overnight: Casablanca 

Transportation will be provided to Mohammad V Casablanca Airport for your departure.
