White water rafting, horseback safaris, visiting the source of the Nile, sundowner Nile cruises and kayaking are all available at an extra cost.
Today you are driven through beautiful scenery to Sipi Falls, one of Uganda’s hidden gems. From the lodge you will have beautiful views of the falls as the Sipi River flows down from Mt Elgon. Wonderful nature walks , visits to coffee plantations, villages are all optional activities to enjoy while at the lodge.
This morning after breakfast, you will explore Sipi Falls and the surrounding area – we highly recommend a hike into the hills with your guide to explain to you the local flora, fauna and a chance to interact with the locals who work the land for coffee plantations.
Today you drive approx. 6 hours towards Moroto Town. This area that the Karamojong people call home is a very remote area with a scenic reserve, local people, markets in the most un-touched area and remote village set up as the highlights. Overnight at your hotel as you get to relax and get ready for the next day’s adventure.
After breakfast, you will embark on a journey to visit the Karamajongs. Related to the Masai but untouched in terms of tourism, the chance to meet the tribe and visit their homes is a fascinating experience. We offer you the chance to enjoy the local food and culture in an unaltered manner and for an additional fee you can even spend the night in the village.
Continuing your journey well off the beaten track, you drive north to Kidepo Valley National Park. Kidepo is one of Africa’s best kept secrets and is virtually tourist free but abundant in wildlife. You will stay here for two nights and be able to enjoy game drives as well as walks with an armed ranger.
Enjoy a full day on safari in Kidepo Valley National Park. Wildlife includes buffalos, elephants, lions, cheetahs plus a huge array of other species. A typical day on safari will include an early morning game drive, the best time to spot big cats and a chance to watch the sunrise over the plains. You will return for a hot lunch and rest before an afternoon activity returning in time for a drink and a lovely dinner at the lodge with the sounds of the African bush acting as a lullaby.
Following a final game drive out of Kidepo you will make your way south towards the well known Murchison Falls National Park. This is a seven hour drive and your guide will make sure you stop off at viewpoints and rest stops along the way to break the journey up. We recommend a game drive first thing in the morning followed by a boat safari in the afternoon. This national park is full of big game and its diverse terrain offers brilliant experiences. The Falls themselves are accessible by boat or you can hike to the top with your guide. Returning in time for your final dinner and a night spent with the sounds of the bush surrounding the lodge
This morning you will visit the top of the falls then later drive to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola to view the Rhinos and overnight there as well. Uganda’s Rhinos became extinct in the early 1980s, after a period of civil unrest and heavy poaching. This sanctuary has now been established to breed white rhinos, and restore Rhino populations in Uganda’s protected areas in a later stage.
Today you take another long but beautiful drive through the plantations and mountains that are synonymous with Ugandan countryside. Stopping off at the lovely town of Fort Portal for lunch you will arrive in the Kibale Forest, home to some 13 species of primates including the red colobus monkeys, chimpanzees and L’Hoest’s monkeys as well as other mammal species. Enjoy the afternoon and evening relaxing at the lodge.
Today you will get the chance to track the troops of chimpanzees that live in the forest. Having a face-to-face time with our closest relatives is an amazing experience. The forest is full of other primates and all forms of life. Seeing habituated chimps squabbling and swinging from the trees is an exhilarating experience. Later in the afternoon you will have the opportunity to visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, which is rich in bird species, vegetation, and wildlife. This is also a great opportunity to support local tourism initiatives which benefit social and economic development in the area. There is stunning scenery and some incredibly rare wildlife to spot en route.
Following your time in Kibale you will travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This stunning park is located at the base of Rwenzori Mountain range, adjacent to Lake Edward and Lake George. It is full of game and particularly known for its large elephant population.

You then drive on to Ishasha, on the border with the Congo and famous for its population of tree climbing lions, you will arrive in time to relax at the lodge or enjoy a game drive. The lodge is surrounded by wildlife and has some stunning views of the lush forest.
Today you journey into best known region of Uganda, the Virunga Mountains. You spend the night on the shore of Lake Mutanda, the perfect base for gorilla treks, volcano hikes, and birders.
This morning you will wake early and prepare for your gorilla trek. This is a humbling experience and you will be allocated to one of the habituated groups that call the mountains of Bwindi home. The allocation of which group you track is based upon fitness levels, preferences and size of parties. The groups are located at varying distances from the base, they can be less than an hours trek away or up to 8 hours. Following your incredible day in the forest with the gorillas you will return to the lodge and relax.
From your Lake Mutanda base you will have the chance to relax in the ‘Switzerland of Africa’ or enjoy some of the activities on offer. We highly recommend a visit to the indigenous Batwa (pygmy) Community that live in these forests, as interesting a cultural experience as you will find.
